Lucifer: The Light Bearer

"Day star, morning star." a name for Venus, from Greek Phosphorus, or Eosphoros. Lucifer is from Latin: lux, lucis, luce, luci, and lucu: “light”; and fer, fero: “to bear, carry, support, lift, hold, take up”; these synthesize literally as “Bearer of Light.”
While modern Christians believe the name Lucifer is a name for Satan, "the devil," the chief architect of evil, the reality is that before Milton ("Paradise Lost," 17th century), Lucifer had never been a name of the devil. One of the early Popes of Rome bore that name, and there was even a Christian sect in the fourth century which was called the Luciferians.
The name Lucifer is not in the Hebrew Bible. It was introduced into translations of the Bible (and subsequent doctrines) by a bishop named Jerome, who translated what is known as the Latin Vulgate. When he reached the book of Isaiah, there is a passage describing a king of Babylon:
"How are you fallen from heaven, O Shining One, son of Dawn!" - Isaiah 14:12
At that time Jerome was battling politically against a Christian bishop named Lucifer,  so he translated the Hebrew phrase הילל בן־שחר Hillel ben Schahar (Shining One, son of Dawn) as "Lucifer." Thus, in modern Bibles, it reads:
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!" (King James version)
Although the original passage has nothing to do with Satan, "the devil," this minor change had massive impact on the interpretation of Christian doctrine and the now widespread misunderstanding of the name Lucifer.
Lucifer, the "carrier of the light," is the equivilent to the Greek myth of Prometheus, the divinity who brings the life-giving fire to humanity, yet is punished for this act, and is only freed when that fire incarnates as the hero (Herakles, the bodhisattva; i.e. Jesus, Krishna, Moses, etc) who liberates the Christic fire from its bondage in the stone (the mountain / Mercury / sex).
The fall of Lucifer symbolizes to how because of our defects and mistakes the divine fire within us has fallen into degeneration and must be cleansed of impurity.
"...in antiquity and reality, Lucifer, or Luciferus, is the name of the angelic Entity presiding over the light of truth as over the light of the day. In the great Valentinian gospel Pistis Sophia (§ 361) it is taught that of the three Powers emanating from the Holy names of the Three [[Tridunameis]], that of Sophia (the Holy Ghost according to these gnostics -- the most cultured of all), resides in the planet Venus or Lucifer." —H.P. Blavatsky
"We need to whitewash the devil with maximum expedited urgency. This is only possible through fighting against our own selves, by dissolving all those conjunctions of psychological aggregates that constitute the “I,” the “myself,” the “itself.” Only by dying in ourselves can we whitewash the brass and contemplate the Sun of the Middle Night (the Father). This signifies that we must defeat all temptations and eliminate all of the inhuman elements that we carry within (anger, greed, lust, envy, pride, laziness, gluttony, etc, etc, etc.). A trainer in the psychological gymnasium of human existence is always required. The divine Daimon, quoted many times by Socrates, is the very shadow of our own individual Spirit. He is the most extraordinary psychological trainer that each one of us carries within. He delivers us into temptation with the purpose of training us, teaching us. Only in this way is it possible for the precious gems of virtue to sprout from our psyche. Now I question myself and I question you. Where is the evil of Lucifer? The results speak for themselves. If there are no temptations there are no virtues. Virtues are more grandiose when temptations are stronger. What is important is not to fall into temptation. That is why we have to pray to our Father, saying, “Lead us not into temptation.”

The Fire of Kundalini

Kundalini comes from Sanskrit and refers to a cosmic force, energy. It is a pure, divine force. Kunda in Sanskrit means coiled. It’s the same way a serpent sleeps. As the serpent (Kundalini) awakens and travels up the spine, it activates the corresponding powers of the chakras.

Any spiritual practices we perform has its intention of the awakening of this cosmic force (serpent) within us. It is what connects us to the Divine. It functions according to cause and effect. Every manifested thing is subject to cause and effect, and Kundalini is no exception. When the causes are satisfied, the effect is the result.

The most common universal symbol for the Kundalini is the serpent, which is found in every religion. (Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. It is this serpent that gives wisdom, intelligence. Kundalini is an energy that exists in the body. The true initiate seeks to escape suffering; it is someone tired of the ego, tired of pain, tired of death. The real initiate wants to go back to Eden and has remorse for their pride and their lust and wants to change that. This power of Kundalini is the power of God.

Our nature does not want this. Nature only wants to perpetuate itself. Nature does not want or need us to believe in God or not. Nature wants our energy. Every organism in nature transforms energy and transmits energy. Human beings are organisms that digest, transform, and release forces. And those forces perpetuate life on the planet.

We need a physical body to reach enlightenment. The physical body is the place where all the forces from the other dimensions join together so they can be transformed. The force we need to liberate the power, the energy that will awaken the consciousness and give us the spiritual sight that we need is enclosed in the root chakra- trapped, asleep. This is where the Kundalini rests and waits for us to come and awaken it.

The creative power of God is sex. The sexual energy when polarized negatively traps the consciousness in hell. Only a couple working together can experience this energy. The second birth is the reemergence back to Eden. The rule is to save your sexual energy.

Kundalini is the intelligence of God. The Kundalini only arises, only arrives to those who deserve it. And those who deserve that enter into a very different experience of life. Someone who has this energy active within them does not see life the way normal people do. The Kundalini opens our spiritual eyes. It is the doorway back to Eden.

Gnostic Teachings- The Two Lines of Life, Part 3

The Line of Being

It is here we find another line, a line that runs in a totally different direction from the Line of Life. The Line of Being expresses levels of consciousness. In the Line of Being there are many levels. There are "more" conscious beings and "less" conscious beings.

As we travel the Line of Life we are always at one or another Level of Being. We have more conscious moments and less conscious moments. What differentiates these moments in life is not how successful we are and how much money we have, how much we have impressed people. What really makes a difference in life is our Level of Being: how conscious we are, how sincere we are, how honest, how aware. Our level of consciousness determines whether we are living with great complexities and problems, great sufferings or with great peace.

If we are angry and vengeful, our life will be filled with circumstances that relate with these qualities. If we are lustful, our life will be filled with the problems related to lust. The more lust, anger, and pride we have, the lower our Level of Being.

What we need is to use the consciousness itself in order to change ourselves internally. The consciousness is the root of perception. It is that part in us that perceives with absolute purity, without feelings, without thinking, and without sensation. It is raw perception in a pure, unaltered form. The consciousness is our direct connection with our own divinity. This is the root principle upon which every genuine meditation practice is based.

We need to learn what our Level of Being is and we learn that by being vigilant, by learning how to watch, how to pay attention, how to be conscious of our movement through the Line of Life. The more conscious we are of our movement through life, the more we raise our Level of Being.

Gnostic Teachings- The Two Lines of Life, Part 2

The Law of Polarities

As with everything in nature, the Law of Polarities manages and balances the good of the whole. This is the Law of Karma as organized by the interdependence of all things.

The habit of the mind that we have now is to ignore and avoid what we call "bad" and to crave or chase what we call "good." So the vast majority of humanity spends all their energy chasing their desires, obsessively pursuing what we call "good."  This phenomenon happens on every level in ourselves.

It is simple: when we go to a restaurant, what do we order? What we crave. When we watch TV what do we look for? What we desire. When we interact with other people what do we look for? What we crave.

We avoid anything that creates what we would call suffering, pain, discomfort, humiliation, fear, insecurity, death. We spend a great majority of our time avoiding things we don't want to deal with.

So as we travel this line of life pursuing all of our desires and avoiding whatever we cannot face, we are ignoring certain principles. It is the consciousness.

Gnostic Teachings- The Two Lines of Life, Part 1

This line shows the course of time from birth to death. We are born, we grow, we get educated (or not) and all the events of our lives pass, and then we die.

This is called The Line of Knowledge because real knowledge is the point of living. We are alive in order to know what life is about. How we walk the line is the critical difference between finding real Gnosis (knowledge), and living in its opposite: ignorance.

The difference is found through knowing Gnosis to use the consciousness, or not knowing (ignoring) the use of the consciousness.

Every being is subject to the laws of this line. That means that everyone of us was born. You cannot have birth without death. Life exists because of death. Death exists because of Life.

This is a fundamental polarity of nature. Yet in us, it is out of balance.

Gnostics on The Holy Spirit (Ghost)- The Virgin Mary

I wanted to follow up on a YouTube video I recently posted titled, Dream: Ghosts/Developing the Five Bodies of Soul. I started reading a book about the Virgin Mary and since I study Gnostics I saw the connection that she has with the Holy Ghost. For me this wasn't a coincidence, but God revealing something deeper and meaningful to me.

Gnostics refers to the Holy Spirit with Sophia, Wisdom, and Wisdom was considered female. The Virgin Mary (Sophia) is associated with the purified astral body. At the moment of illumination this cleansed, purified astral body retains none of the impure impressions of the physical world, but only the organs of perception of the spiritual world, and is then called the "pure, chaste, wise Virgin Sophia." When the person thus illuminated has received the Holy Spirit unto himself, he permits the voice of Spirit to speak through him. The inner being is opened fully to the spiritual world of the Higher Self.

The church of the Holy Spirit is the church of the heart. The fires of the heart control the Kundalini. The key of redemption is found in the union of the man and female in the mystical sexual act. Love is nourished with love; the kiss is the mystical consecration of two souls who adore each other. Self-realization is impossible without the magic of love.

Blessed be love, blessed be the beings who adore each other.

Gnostic Teachings- Trapped In Desire

When we become very angry, we are identified with our anger, meaning that anger becomes our identity, our I. That anger has become a vampire, a tick, a leech that is sucking up the light, the Consciousness, that energy that is flowing through us, and it is using that energy to feed itself, to make itself fatter, to make itself more powerful. This is the difficulty: Identification.

When we become identified, we give up our connection with God.

Identification is the state of psychological sleep. It is a state in which the Consciousness has become hypnotized and trapped by a desire.

Within our mind we have millions of examples of these types of desires. Millions. Each of us has our own. Each of us has our own “psychological country,” an inner landscape that keeps us fascinated, bewildered, identified: asleep.

The Urgency In The Heart

There is a common interest, a common intent, shared amongst all religions, which is the longing to experience the truth.  This is the urgency in the heart, a sense in ones heart that what we see in our daily life is not the totality of life.  Truthfully, if what we see in our daily lives was the totality of life, life would not be worth living.

Our Own Anger

Anger isolates.  The only thing anger can do is destroy.  Anger cannot create anything.  It cannot create peace.  It cannot create understanding.  It cannot create harmony; it can only create conflict, war, discord, separation.  Even if we intellectually know these things, we all have enormous anger, why?  Do we all want peace?  Do we all want to feel connectedness?  We all want to feel love and we all want to love.  Anger is the obstacle, not the anger of others, but our own.

Suffering in Samsara

“Nobody can deny the fact that there are different social levels. There are churchgoing people, people in brothels, farmers, businessmen, etc.
“In a like manner, there are different Levels of Being. Whatever we are internally, munificent or mean, generous or miserly, violent or peaceful, chaste or lustful, attracts the various circumstances of life.
“The lustful person will always attract scenes, dramas and even lascivious tragedies in which he will become involved.
“A drunkard will always attract drunkards and will always be seen in bars or taverns; this is obvious...
“What will the usurer attract? The selfish one? How many problems? Jail? Misfortunes?
“Nonetheless, frustrated people, tired of suffering, want to change, to turn the page of their history...
“Wretched people! They want to change and they do not know how; they do not know the methods; they are stuck in a blind alley.
“What happened to them yesterday happens to them today, and will happen to them again tomorrow; they always repeat the same errors and not even cannon shots will make them learn the lessons of life.
“All things repeat themselves in their life; they say the same things, do the same things and complain about the same things.
“This boring repetition of dramas, comedies, and tragedies will continue as long as we carry in our interior all the undesirable elements of anger, covetousness, lust, envy, pride, laziness, gluttony, etc.
“What is our moral level? Or better said, what is our Level of Being?
“The repetition of all our miseries, scenes, misfortunes, and mishaps will last as long as the Level of our Being does not radically change.
“All things, all circumstances that occur outside ourselves, on the stage of this world, are exclusively the reflection of what we carry within.
“With good reason then, we can solemnly declare that the “exterior is the reflection of the interior.”
“When someone changes internally and if that change is radical, then circumstances, life and the external also change.” - Samael Aun Weor, Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology

Noah's Ark- Part 10

The ark, or physical body, was once considered sacred by all ancient religious traditions. The animals of the Noah story represent these germs of all living things, the sperm and ovum contained within the physical body.  These germs within man and woman are represented by the "male and female animals" stored within the "ark".  These primordial root elements can provide physical life or spiritual life, depending upon the usage.

Physical death does not guarantee purification and salvation, since this is something internal, beyond the physical world.  Despite the sufferings, difficulties, and sacrifices involved by walking this path, it is the only one that results in the complete development and liberation of the soul.

It is only once our internal psychological filthiness is eradicated by the flood water of spiritual practice that Elohim can establish a new heaven and a new earth.  The heavens representing a pure state of consciousness and the earth referring to purity within one's physicality and mind- the temple of the divine.

Noah's Ark- Part 9

"The length of the tebah shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits." Genesis 6:15

Every Hebrew letter is also a number.
300: Shin, which represents fire.
50: Nun, which represents fish.
30: Lamed, which represents a staff.

These letters represent the work that must be done in the physical body in order to achieve liberation.

The letter Shin relates to the trinity the 3 primary forces.  It is the creative fire at the base of life.  A power of creation inherent in every atom, a power we must harness and direct towards liberation.

The letter Nun is life in movement, the "fish" or living power of sexuality.  By harnessing that force, we can achieve the "second birth."  Jesus spoke often of the "living water."

The letter Lamed is the staff of Moses, rod of Aaron, which represents the creative fire of the letter shin raised upon a pole as a brazen serpent, like Moses did.  The creative fire, raised up the spinal column.  In the East, this is called kundalini.

Spiritual illumination is produced by an abundance of inner light.  That light is radiated from the fire, the letter Shin, which represents the fundamental trinity of forces in all things.

The story of Noah represents an alchemical process of transmutation in which the base matter is purged and purified.  All that is impure in us must die, while the purity must be developed and perfected.

Noah's Ark- Part 8

John Collier painted this portrait of a Greek Baccante with her symbolic items: the skin of the slain animal desire, the wreath of victory on her head, and in her hand, the staff topped by a pine cone, symbol of the awakened pineal gland, the "seat of the soul," the "eye of Brahma," or in other words, the source of spiritual vision.

The Ark represents stages of development of the "body".  Genesis 6:14 "Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shall thou make in the ark, and shall pitch it within and without with pitch".

In Hebrew the first two letters can be interpreted as "wood" or "tree".  The two trees of significance in the Bible are written with the Hebrew "ets" the tree of life and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Pitch refers to how the vessel is hermetically sealed, to keep the impure flood waters out.

This whole story started with the abuse of the tree of knowledge.  It is why Adam and Eve had to leave the garden.  Thus, the way to return is by the same tree.

"Now the man knew his wife, Eve, and she conceived and bore Cain..." Genesis 4:1  In the Bible, knowledge implies sexual knowledge.  Moreover, it is related to fire:  sexual desire is a "burning" energy.  The tree of knowledge of good or evil is dualistic, meaning sexual energy can be good or evil.  To build the ark, to return to Eden, one has to know how to use the tree in a good way.

"...qenim shalt thou make in the tebah..." Genesis 6:14  In English qenim is translated as "room", but actually it is plural for reeds, canes, or stalks.  It is an ancient symbol of the spinal column of a spiritually developed person.  It is plural here because the work to create the Ark is a collaboration between man and woman.

The spinal cord is the conduit that transmits all the energies of our nervous system, and supports the energetic channels between our sexual organs and our brain.

Noah's Ark- Part 7

"Noah a righteous [iysh]..." Genesis 6:9

The word iysh "fire" with the letter iod in the middle represents someone who is following the commandments, obeying the pact of fire (sexual purity), who stands in the midst of the fire of the furnace and is not burned (Daniel 3).  Furnace is etymologically connected to the word "fornication".

By preserving our inner Noah, our divinity can purge the impurity that traps us in suffering.  That inner fire, Noah, has to be protected in the ark-anum- the secret knowledge- within which he will float upon the waters that consume all impurity.  The water and the fire work together.

Noah's Ark- Part 6

"These are the results of Noah: Noah was a righteous and perfect in his generation, and Noah walked with Elohim.  And Noah begat three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth."  Genesis 6:9-10

The three sons of Noah are symbolic of the three parts of the fully developed soul.  In spite of the degeneration that has corrupted us all, "Noah" must survive if the soul is to be developed.  This aspect of developing the soul was edited out of Christianity's teaching.  The developed soul is represented by the wedding garment mentioned by Jesus.

The soul can only be made through a "second birth" taught by Jesus as resulting from the Holy Spirit (fire) and a secret living water, both which are hidden symbolically throughout the scriptures.

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."  John 3

Birth is sexual, whether relating to physical birth or spiritual birth.  The soul has to be made, born.  We do not have a true soul until we make one.  We have the seed of the soul, the potential to be born, but we are not "born again" until the soul is born.

No one is born again by saying words or believing something.  Birth is a sexual matter.  Noah is the seed of the soul, and the spark that starts the fire.

Noah's Ark- Part 5

"But Noah found grace in the eyes of Iod-Chavah." Genesis 6:8

The Hebrew name Noah has two letters.  The first letter, Nun, represents a fish.  The second letter, Chet, is the root of the word Chai, "life".  The name Noah hides these elements: the fish and life itself.

The fish represents the life forces in the water.  The source of our lives is the sexual energy.  The sperm and ovum are "fish" in the waters of sexuality.  When combined life emerges. The fish is the core symbol in all religions.  Thus "Noah" is a seed hidden inside us.  Noah is the seed of the soul.

Noah represents the true nature of our psyche (the consciousness, the soul, the buddha nature)- a pure, radiant spark of the divine, which through a specific science can be grown into an angel, buddha, master, etc.

"So Elohim created Adam in their image." Genesis 1:27
The Hebrew word Elohim is plural: it means gods and goddesses.

Noah's Ark- Part 4

The earth represents that which houses our psyche; the "earth" is our body.  We live in our "earth", the body, yet that body is not just physical.  It is also the body we inhabit when we dream, imagine, daydream, or fantasize.

"And Iod-Chavah (our inner divinity) saw that the impurity (pollution) of our mind was great in the body, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only impurity continually.

"And it repented Iod-Chavah that he had made the mind that is in the body, and it grieved him at his heart."

"And Iod-Chavah said, I will destroy that corrupted mind whom I have created from the image of the body; both the mind and the animal ego, and the creeping thing (perverted elements in our mind), and the fowls of the heavens (distracting thoughts that fly in fantasy...")  Genesis 6

Our minds are deeply corrupted with pride, lust, anger, envy, greed, etc.  All of that exists because of the choices we have made tempted by desire, we grow those elements in our psyche.

Noah's Ark- Part 3

Cain and Abel represent the conflicts in us between the innate purity of the psyche (Abel) and the ever dissatisfied desires we have (Cain).  Our desires "kill" the purity of the psyche (Cain kills Abel).  Abel, that part of us, does not cease to exist, by "dying" is represented how it has become almost completely powerless, trapped, overwhelmed, by the spread of desire.  When desire rules us psychologically, Abel is rendered "dead".

Noah's Ark- Part 2

(Genesis 1-4)

Adam and Eve lived in a state of bliss and knew divinity personally.  They chose to eat the "forbidden fruit" of the Tree of Knowledge.  In Hebrew, the words are written tobve rah, which means "goodness and impurity."  They imply the Tree of Knowledge is dual: it can be used for benefit through purity, or harm through pollution or impurity.  Adam and Eve broke the commandment given to them by divinity, thus they became polluted by rah: impurity.  That is how they lost the ability to walk and talk with Elohim.

Noah's Ark- Part 1

In the original Hebrew scripture there is no reference to a boat, Genesis/Bereshit 6:14 "Make thee a tebah of gopher wood..." Tebah means "chest, box, case, or hull, body."  Tebah indicates a container.  The word "ark" appears in the Latin translation as "arca."  It translates into a chest, both as a box and the trunk of the human body and also as a coffin.

In the Bible, there are several types of "arks."  In each case, the "ark" is a container that protects something sacred.  It is like the "hull" of a seed: it protects the life-giving elements inside.  The word "ark" is related to "arcane, arcanum" which means something hidden, a secret, known only to those specially informed.  The arcane knowledge has always been reserved for those who were prepared beforehand to use it.
