New Book Release: Little Red Wagon Hitched to a Star

When I wrote Little Red Wagon Hitched to a Star, I knew I was creating a whimsical children's story about a little girl who dreams of magical worlds, rides the Milky Way on a magnificent black stallion, encounters dragons and mystical creatures, and follows her heart toward an unknown destiny.

But, as with much of my writing, there is more beneath the surface. This little girl's journey is also a story about courage, purity, truth, devotion, and the power of dreams.

Her little red wagon carries a sword of truth and a shield of purity…symbols of the inner strength she needs as she travels through the unknown. She learns that the things that may frighten her can also become part of her transformation.

And then there is King Solomon. For me, his presence carries an esoteric meaning connected to the Song of Solomon and the mystery of the Beloved…the one who may be searching, hidden, or even appearing in a form we don't expect.

This is where the story touches something very close to my own spiritual writing. I have always believed that creation mirrors the Creator. We see this reflected in the mysteries of love, the masculine and feminine, the inner and outer worlds, and the relationships that awaken something deeper within us. The alchemy of that awakening is not simply romantic. It can involve purity, chastity, devotion, contemplation, truth, and surrender.

So while a child may simply see a little girl riding through the stars on an incredible adventure, an adult may see another story unfolding underneath it a journey of the soul toward love, truth, and destiny.

Perhaps that is what makes children's stories so magical. They don't always have to explain the mystery. They simply open the door. And sometimes, the child sees the stars... while the adult sees what is hidden among them.

Dream boldly. Explore fearlessly. Follow your heart!
