I was twenty-four when I encountered the Friend. On one of my days of worshipping God there was a knock on the door. When I opened the door and my eyes met his eyes I felt Eternity open up. My soul had recognized this man's soul. Every part of my being and body trembled in fear and awe. That encounter would have me searching and asking, "What is this consciousness behind this awareness?" In a single moment I was forever changed and my yearning for God deepened.
