From Journal Entry 2/3/2026
I was deep in a dream when I heard a
distinct, rhythmic knock. It wasn't a heavy thud, but that sharp, familiar
sound of knuckles hitting a screen door. It was so clear that I sat upright, my
heart racing, convinced someone was standing on my porch in the middle of the
night.
I got up and walked through the quiet
house, checking the door, only to realize... there was no one there. It was
just the wind. The wind was literally catching the door and creating a perfect,
persistent knock.
As I stood there in the dark, a
strange feeling washed over me. It wasn't fear. It was relief.
In the spiritual world, wind is often
seen as Pneuma—the breath of spirit, a messenger of change. And if I’m being
honest, change is exactly what’s knocking on my door right now.
My youngest child is graduating high
school. For years, the sounds of my home have been the beautiful chaos of
raising children…doors slamming, laughter, footsteps, and constant activity.
But we are standing at a threshold now. The "door" of this season is
thinning, and the outside world is starting to call her name.
I’ve been thinking about why I felt
relieved instead of spooked. I think it’s because that "knock"
confirmed something my soul already knew. The transition is here, and it is
natural.
The wind knocking on the door wasn't
an intruder; it was an invitation. It was the universe’s way of saying:
The house is about to get quieter, but
it’s also about to breathe.
The "empty nest" isn't a
vacuum; it’s a space for something new to move in.
I’ve done my job, and now the same
"wind" that is carrying my daughter into her future is also knocking
to see what I want to do next.
If you’re in a season of transition…whether
it’s a graduation, a new career, or a quiet house—don't be afraid of the
"knocking." Sometimes the things that startle us awake are just
reminders that we are ready for what’s next.
The door is open. The air is shifting.
And for the first time in a long time, I’m excited to see where the wind takes
us.
Are you facing a big transition this
year? How are you handling the "knocks" of change in your life?
All my love and light,
Madison Meadows
