Highway Blues

Blue Sapphire orchids fell
within my gaze
They caught my eye 
and sent all of my troubles away

For a moment
I transcended all of my blues
And then my thoughts
drifted off to you and only you

I lit a candle
before I went to sleep
And placed in on my alter
hoping my thoughts would be within your reach
But you I don't want to bother

Here's a penny for that thought

I am alone on this highway

I know to keep my cool

transcend my troubling highway blues
