Half A Life

Do not love half lovers Do not entertain half friends Do not live half a life and do not die a half death If you choose silence, then be silent When you speak, do so until you are finished Do not silence yourself to say something And do not speak to be silent If you accept, then express it bluntly Do not mask it If you refuse then be clear about it for an ambiguous refusal is but a weak acceptance Do not accept half a solution Do not believe half truths Do not dream half a dream Do not fantasize about half hopes Half the way will get you no where Half an idea will bear you no results Half a life is a life you didn't live, A word you have not said A smile you postponed A love you have not had A friendship you did not know The half is a mere moment of inability but you are able for you are not half a being You are a whole that exists to live a life not half a life.  ~ Khalil Gibran

The Power of Stillness

" Stillness is vital to the world of the soul. If as you age you become more still, you will discover that.  The fragments of your life will have time to unify, and the places where your soul-shelter is wounded or broken will have time to knit and heal. You will be able to return to yourself. In this stillness, you will engage your soul.  Many people miss out on themselves completely as they journey through life. They know others, they know places, they know skills, they know their work, but tragically, they do not know themselves at all.  Aging can be a lovely time of ripening when you actually meet yourself, indeed maybe for the first time. There are beautiful lines from T. S. Eliot that say: 'And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time.' ~John O'Donohue

I Am Here For You

He dropped her off at the bus stop one morning She waited for him to come home She was nine He never did Disappointment set in She grew up and married at 27 Thought She'd finally be seen, valued, cherished as a wife But he never did Disappointment set in She sat down at 41 And wrote a letter To the love of her life After her husband left She hoped he'd respond But he never did Disappointment set in She met a guy at 44 And he promised her Everything But he never did Like much about her Disappointment set in After years and years of disappointments She made a resolution To be there for herself To show up every day And declare "I am here for you!" When the men in her past Never did

Man’s Roots are Invisible

Love is the Earth Where One Needs to be Rooted~~ If you are rooted in love, you are rooted. There is no other way to be rooted. You can have money, you can have a house, you can have security, you can have a bank balance; that will not give you rootedness. That is just a substitute, a poor substitute for love. It may increase your anxiety even more, because once you have physical securities, money, a social status, you become more and more afraid that these things may be taken from you, or you become more and more worried about having more and more of these things, because discontent knows no limit, and your basic need was of being rooted. Love is the earth where one needs to be rooted. Just as trees are rooted in the earth, man is rooted in love. Man’s roots are invisible, so anything visible is not going to help. Money is very visible, a house is very visible, social status is very visible. Man’s roots are invisible. Man is a tree with invisible roots. You will have to find som...

Don’t Take It Personally

“ Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves. All people live in their own dream, in their own mind. They are in a completely different world from the one we live in. When we take something personally, we make the assumption that they know what is in our world, and we try to impose our world on their world. Even when a situation seems so personal, even if others insult you directly, it has nothing to do with you. What they say, what they do, and the opinions they give are according to the agreements that they have in their own minds.” ~Don Miguel Ruiz

The Depths of Sadness

She found joy in the saddest places. Alone, and often, she felt her way through to the other side of pain. And every time she did her awareness enlarged itself.. Of her world, her soul, her heart.  Sadness is meant to be felt and expressed. So much knowledge we gain about ourselves by allowing and experiencing it's depths. When you do get through it, And in time you will, You'll see the beauty of your sadness. You'll recognize that no matter what state your mind is in or the condition of your heart, You'll notice the beauty because that's what life is.. A beautiful drama unfolding moment by moment of your soul's never-ending journey with all of it's highs and lows.

Dig Holes

let’s all make a promise  to ourselves  to dig holes inside of ourselves  so we may discover new truths about ourselves  and evolve from a star into a galaxy  full of lights so deep in a darkness of no beginning or end
