Blessing in Disguise

just like you
i also was in an unhealthy
marriage with a man
who did not deserve me
just like you
i also let him walk all
over me and treat me badly
just like you
i put up with him coming
and going at all hours of the night
just like you
i got fed up one day and
said "enough is enough"
and demanded to be treated better
just like you
i believed him when he told
me he would change
just like you
he left me
for another woman
and broke my heart
just like you
i've come to realize that his leaving
gave me my freedom
and restored my peace
but that realization didn't
happen over night
but nevertheless it did happen
