Jesus's Parable- Sower of Seeds

A sower went out to sow. As he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, and having little soil, they sprang up fast, and having no roots, they were scorched by the sun and dried up. Other seeds fell amoung thorn bushes. The thorns grew up and choked them. Still other seeds fell on good soil and brought forth grains, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Those who are listening should take heed. (Matt.13:4-9)
The people, like the various kinds of soil recieving the seed recieve the word of God in various ways. Those who are educated beyond their intelligence see the Word as overly simplistic, and of no value to them in where they are at in their lives. There is no depth, so they fail to see beneath the surface of the Word. They are like the ground along the path, which has no depth where the seed can take root. There are others who listen to the Word and like what they hear, but are afraid of making a commitment to the Word because it will mean a change that will complicate their lives, and maybe cause them pain or loss. They are like the rocky ground, incapable of supporting long-term growth. The seedling eventually dies. Then there are others who hear the Word, like what they hear, but are too enamored of the things of the world, which they find more enjoyable. They follow the Word for a while, but in time it becomes boring, as it distracts them from the addiction to material interests, and they eventually lose interest in the Word. They are like the ground overgrown with thorns that choke the seed. Then, finally, there are those who hear the Word, fall in love with what they hear, and make a life long commitment to the Word and nurture it. The Word thrives in their hearts and transforms their lives. They are like the ground with good, fertile soil, which welcomes the seed and provides what it needs to thrieve.

Ancient Egypt

From Journal Entry 9/28/2011

During a relaxation technique, I saw myself as a young woman, in my teens, leaving my royal family in ancient Egypt.  I left on my own accord.  I came back years later disguised with a gift I had handmade.  I presented the silk cloth to the king, my father.  I felt there was a deeper spiritual lesson for my return and a spiritual quest as to why I left in the first place.
I felt honor to prostate in front of the king, but wanted no part of a royal life.  The world outside the palace gave me freedom to be who I was.  I hoped my father would recognize me and he would see that it was out of my own will I served him and not out of duty.  I hoped my father would feel as humbled as I was.

Lover of Chastity

God is the Lover of chastity.  He knows the heart's yearnings and he yearns for the Lovers.  God is in the midst of the Lovers.  His heart burns with their desires.  The virtue of chastity draws the Lovers nearer to God.

The Two Faces of Soul

The soul has two faces: one that is permanently turned toward God, and another that always faces the world.  The soul is our door into the divine.  There is a dimension of the soul that neither time nor flesh nor any created thing can touch.  The soul is created as if at a point between time and eternity, but with the lower powers she touches time.  She works in time not according to it but according to eternity.  There is nothing nearer to us than the divine; we need only slip into rhythm with it.

Bared Burdens

I bare my burdens
and don't complain.
I sacrifice my grief,
you carry my shame.

Burdens are burdenless
when two hearts are the same.
Heaven descends on the lovers
on judgement day.

Perfect Longings

Perfect longings for God consists of contemplation, solitude- to accomplish stillness of the mind, tears of devotion that pour out because of one's humility, a reverence of God's power that penetrates the unclean soul, and sufferings of willingness.  This humbles the soul.  A human being must give regard to its inadequacies everyday.  By devoting contemplation of spiritual matters in private draws one nearer to God.  God than reveals spiritual truths to the devote seeker.

A Sweet Wound

I turned my heart towards God and the wounds of his love healed the wounds of my heart.  God's wound is a sweet wound that endures and bares the longings of his son Christ.

Dream- Exotic Dancer

From Journal Entry 1/31/2012

I am pulled on stage by one of the girls.  I don't want to go.  She chases me around the club.  I stomp on her with my heels.  I tell the crowd that I am no longer that girl.  Whom I really am no one has cared to even get to know.  I proclaim my subject is spirit.  A woman approaches me and says I am an amulet.  The crowd has thinned out.  Only a few that know me still remain.  I throw my heels.

I was an exotic dancer for five years at the age of 18.  I had low self-esteem, no self-love, and deeply resented men.  My Christian upbringing brought me shame and guilt.
My life began to change when a friend gave me a book to read, Conversations with God Book 1.  That led to an interest in a spiritual life.  Then one day, a man came into the club and said something profound to me.  He said, "If you change your direction, like a ship on the ocean by one degree, you'll end up on a whole new island."  I pondered those words and slowly began to change my outlook on life.  God began working in my heart and I began to heal.  When I left that world, I promised God I would never turn back.

Dream Symbols:
Amulet- something worn on the body because of it's power to protect against evil.

1 John 2:16-17  All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and lust of the eyes, and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:  but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

A Clearer Reflection

Let me sit near your heart and undo the doing.  Remembrance allows this undoing.  The knots loosen and a clearer reflection of home shines through.

The Moon and Sun Breath

The Outflowing Moon Breath:  Once attention has settled onto breathing, let The I Is An Illusion join with the outbreath.  A subtle wind is visualized moving upward through the body, the heart, and the restless mind, then exhaled.  Feel this breath carrying everything negative and unwanted along with it: illnesses, self-delusions, obsessions, fears, and angers, destructive desires- all the debris mind gathers to fabricate ego.  Give them all up as unsubstantial, gossamer, as smoke and shadow.

The Inflowing Sun Breath:  Let each inhalation become a breath of love, and mingled with it is the profound understanding God Alone Is Real.  Breath passes through the nose up to the gnostic eye in your forehead, first spreading light through the brain, then flowing down to the inner heart and merging with the soul.  Truth-yearning arises in the heart, drawing great luminous Presence to itself.  Finally it flows everywhere within, "illuminating all the universes."  Now Two ceases and One begins.
